CKAD Mock Exam — Break-Fix

A timed troubleshooting mock: six workloads are up but subtly broken — a Service with no endpoints, a wrong target port, a noisy config, an unapproved image, an over-open network policy, and an under-powered role. Diagnose and fix each against the clock.

Your mission

A timed mock made entirely of broken things. Six workloads in the default namespace are running but misbehaving — this is the "something's wrong, fix it" half of the exam that pure build practice never trains. 60 minutes, one score, 66% to pass. Hints and solutions are locked while the clock runs.

Each task is a ticket: symptoms, and the state ops wants. The cause is yours to find. Work the cheap ones first.

Diagnose fast

alias k=kubectl
k get deploy,svc -o wide # what's running
k describe <kind>/<name> # events + spec
k get endpoints <svc> # a Service with none is misrouted
k get pods --show-labels # label vs selector mismatches

Fixes are usually one kubectl patch, kubectl set, or kubectl edit away.
